【2nd ed.】Chusen Double Gauze Handkerchief/Eto Series
Kyouwa Dyeing and Bleaching Factory Co., Ltd.

Gentle Gauze Handkerchiefs Crafted with Traditional Dyeing Techniques
Tenugui (washcloths or handkerchiefs) originated in the Edo Period when cotton farming flourished. Known for their excellent absorbency, quick-drying properties and durability, they were essential items for people back then.
The double gauze handkerchief is crafted using the ‘chusen’ hand-dyeing technique, established in the Meiji Period. Both sides are dyed so that the motifs depicted on either side faintly show through and overlap, creating a single piece of art.
Based in Sakai City, Osaka, a dyeing factory specializing in traditional chusen techniques has collaborated with designers to create items with heartwarming designs. While traditional tenugui are often long and narrow, the ‘Chusen Double Gauze Handkerchief Eto Series’ is square-shaped and compact in size, making it easy to carry without taking up as much space as a normal mini towel.
Made from 100% cotton and soft on the skin, this handkerchief is suitable for anyone, regardless of age or gender. It is also highly recommended for people with sensitive skin. The soft touch will last even after washing because of its double-gauze structure.
