Baieido, an incense manufacturer in Sakai City with over 300 years of history, has collaborated with fashion brand KEITA MARUYAMA to bring new beauty to its time-honored fragrances.
The package design, created by Keita Maruyama, expresses Japan’s four seasons and traditional aesthetics through his distinctive sensibility—reimagining the beloved Japanese concept of Wa in a contemporary visual style.
The oriental and exotic patterns evoke Southeast Asia and the East—the birthplace of incense—achieving a refined texture that also shines as an interior piece.
This series offers a fresh perspective on Japanese incense, once associated mainly with Buddhist rituals. It naturally blends into the daily lives of younger generations and those interested in fashion and art, adding a sophisticated accent to any space.
The lineup features three of Baieido’s long-selling classics: Koubunboku, Kai un koh, and Sandalwood Kokonoekoh. Each boasts more than a century of history and is characterized by deep fragrances made from carefully selected natural ingredients.
