【5th ed.】Sasasa Wazarashi Cloth Coffee Filter / Wazarashi Cloth Cold Brew Filter

A Rich Cup, Brewed with Wazarashi
The Sasasa Wazarashi Cloth Coffee Filter is a sustainable, reusable filter created by the long-established Takeda Sarashi Kojo Inc.—a traditional cotton bleaching company based in Sakai, Osaka founded in 1911. Made from 100% “Oka” cotton—food-safe and processed via the traditional Wazarashi refining technique—the fabric delivers a clean, robust finish.
Rather than removing all the natural oils as many paper filters do, this filter retains just the right amount—so you can savour a fuller, smoother flavour.
Available in two shapes to suit standard drippers — cone-shaped and flat-bottom— with a dedicated cold-brew version too. Simply steep in the fridge for approximately 12 hours to extract a clear cup, free of impurities, with a gentle sweetness. All types serve 2-4 cups and offer economical, eco-friendly reuse.
Before first use, sanitise by boiling. After brewing, rinse and hang to dry in the shade. The quick-drying fabric makes it easy to fit into your daily coffee ritual. Developed under the supervision of Overview Coffee Japan, this filter opens a new way for coffee lovers to enjoy their brew. Experience a rich cup with Sasasa — where traditional technique meets modern lifestyle.

【5th ed.】tututata Wazarashi Tenugui
Wrap, Fold, and Brighten Your Everyday Life
Since its founding in 1931, Kadono Sarashi Some Inc. has continued to uphold the traditional Japanese technique of wazarashi—a time-honored refining process for cotton fabric. From their enduring craftsmanship and passion was born a new lifestyle brand, “tututata.”
The brand name is inspired by the sounds of the Japanese words tsutsumu (to wrap) and tatamu (to fold), gestures that symbolize Japan’s fabric culture.
We present a new kind of tenugui (Japanese hand towel)—neither a furoshiki nor a handkerchief, but a cloth designed to seamlessly blend into everyday life.
While retaining the breathability and absorbency unique to wazarashi, the design completely redefines the conventional image.
Modern patterns and gentle colors, reminiscent of Scandinavian textiles, bring brightness and a touch of playfulness to your daily routine.
The thick, premium-quality fabric offers a tangible sense of craftsmanship every time you hold it.Each edge is carefully hemmed for durability, ensuring it remains resistant to fraying even after repeated washing.
It also comes with a “Tenugui Recipe” that introduces creative ways to incorporate it into your lifestyle—whether in the kitchen, as an interior accent, or as a fashion accessory.
Every process—from refining and bleaching the fabric to printing and inspection—is carried out entirely in-house under an integrated production system.
With artisans’ eyes and hands attending to each detail, unwavering quality is guaranteed.
This single piece, a fusion of tradition and modern sensibility, is a timeless companion for your everyday life.

【5th ed.】 hirali Gauze Stole

Wear Color, Enjoy the Season
From hirali, a brand by Takeno Senko, comes a new creation — the Gauze Stole, crafted using their original double-sided dyeing technique.
This process combines masterful craftsmanship with roller printing — a technique that dyes patterns by rolling fabric with engraved rollers — to color the front and back of the delicate, semi-transparent gauze in different hues without any color bleeding through. It is a special dyeing method unique to Takeno Senko in all of Japan. The process demands about five times the usual effort, including meticulous adjustments of dye formulas according to the ambient temperature, all guided by the artisans’ refined sensibility.
Soft, light, and pleasant against the skin, the stole is as practical as it is beautiful.
Its design features modern interpretations of traditional Japanese patterns and color combinations inspired by Kasane no Irome—the Heian-period color culture based on seasonal words (kigo). When wrapped around the neck, the overlapping colors from both sides create depth and dimension, offering a variety of looks depending on how it’s tied.
Measuring 34 x 180 cm, it’s a versatile piece for all seasons: perfect in summer for absorbing sweat, shielding from the sun, or protecting against air conditioning, and in winter for a touch of warmth.
Compact and easy to carry, it’s a fashion item for all genders and ages — a true embodiment of Sakai’s dyeing culture and craftsmanship.
Enjoy how the fabric softens and evolves with every use.

【4th ed.】 hirali Cotton Towel

A Beautifully Colorful and Storytelling Cotton Towel
In Japan, with its rich seasonal changes, a unique aesthetic has been cultivated since ancient times by integrating the colors of nature into clothing. Hirali reinterprets this color culture, known as “Kasane no Irome” (the layering of colors), and brings it to life through front-and-back color combinations inspired by Japan’s “kigo” (seasonal words).
For instance, a color pattern inspired by the spring kigo “Kaze Hikaru” (the shining wind) features shades that evoke a refreshing breeze and bright sunlight dancing joyfully. The design incorporates the beloved traditional windmill motif, cherished by generations.
In autumn, the kigo “Aki no Mizu” (autumn water) captures the clarity of water during the season, reflecting the serene colors of nature found in the autumn mountains. This pattern utilizes a design called “Tate Waku Mon,” which symbolizes rising steam.
There are over 30 variations of these designs, with an additional 4 to 6 new patterns released each year, making it a popular choice for collectors who enjoy gathering different styles.
The patterns draw from traditional Japanese designs, while the colors reflect classic Japanese hues, resulting in a tranquil overall impression. Yet, the refined designs also shine with individuality, making them a striking accent for fashion. The fabric is crafted from carefully selected materials that are highly absorbent and soft to the touch, becoming even softer with use, offering a fluffy and gentle texture to enjoy.

【4th ed.】Sakai Tsubondo Folding Fan with Case

A Fan Featuring Vibrant Auspicious Patterns Unique to Chusen Dyeing
This fan is crafted from three types of traditional Japanese patterned fabric, all dyed using the chusen technique. Taking advantage of chusen’s unique characteristic—having no distinct front or back—the fan is made from a single piece of fabric, resulting in a lightweight design. It is constructed from durable cotton fabric, which adds to its appeal. The vivid colors bring a touch of brilliance to everyday life.
The wave motif, known as Seigaiha, evokes the blessings of the vast ocean. This pattern of infinitely spreading waves symbolizes a wish for eternal happiness and peaceful living.
Similarly, the Noshi pattern is considered auspicious as well. It represents the connections and bonds between people, along with longevity, making it a staple for celebrations, including formal kimonos like furisode and tomesode, as well as ceremonies such as shrine visits.
Kamawanu creatively illustrates the concept of “I don’t mind” by combining emojis of a sickle (kama) and a circle (wa). This pattern has traditionally been used on cotton towels and yukata, showcasing a clever design that possesses a unique charm rarely seen in modern items.
Each design comes in 2-3 color variations, making them suitable for people of all ages and genders. The inclusion of a matching bag is a bonus. This item, showcasing the essence of Japan with its stylish patterns on a fan, is sure to delight as a gift or souvenir for visitors.

【3rd ed.】Sashiko Style Design Washcloth mug

Versatile Washcloth: Subtle Hues to Brighten Your Kitchen
A bleached cloth woven in Sashiko Style has been vividly dyed using the chusen technique. Because the thread itself is dyed instead of only the surface of the fabric, this item has excellent breathability and quick-drying properties, making it ideal for kitchen use. Its moderate thickness is suitable for use as a washcloth as well as a table runner.
Available in three color combinations: black×blue for a refined look, beige×purple for a soft touch, and bordeaux for a warm tone. All colors are subtle and will blend seamlessly into any kitchen while complementing simple cutlery designs.
With every wash, the colors, softness and texture will enhance. This transformation adds to the enjoyment of using this washcloth.
Sashiko originated from the commoners’ careful and respectful use of cloth. Its thickness is greater than that of conventional washcloths, making it suitable for everyday use.

【2nd ed.】Chusen Double Gauze Handkerchief/Eto Series

Gentle Gauze Handkerchiefs Crafted with Traditional Dyeing Techniques
Tenugui (washcloths or handkerchiefs) originated in the Edo Period when cotton farming flourished. Known for their excellent absorbency, quick-drying properties and durability, they were essential items for people back then.
The double gauze handkerchief is crafted using the ‘chusen’ hand-dyeing technique, established in the Meiji Period. Both sides are dyed so that the motifs depicted on either side faintly show through and overlap, creating a single piece of art.
Based in Sakai City, Osaka, a dyeing factory specializing in traditional chusen techniques has collaborated with designers to create items with heartwarming designs. While traditional tenugui are often long and narrow, the ‘Chusen Double Gauze Handkerchief Eto Series’ is square-shaped and compact in size, making it easy to carry without taking up as much space as a normal mini towel.
Made from 100% cotton and soft on the skin, this handkerchief is suitable for anyone, regardless of age or gender. It is also highly recommended for people with sensitive skin. The soft touch will last even after washing because of its double-gauze structure.
