The Sasasa Wazarashi Cloth Coffee Filter is a sustainable, reusable filter created by the long-established Takeda Sarashi Kojo Inc.—a traditional cotton bleaching company based in Sakai, Osaka founded in 1911. Made from 100% “Oka” cotton—food-safe and processed via the traditional Wazarashi refining technique—the fabric delivers a clean, robust finish.

Rather than removing all the natural oils as many paper filters do, this filter retains just the right amount—so you can savour a fuller, smoother flavour.

Available in two shapes to suit standard drippers — cone-shaped and flat-bottom— with a dedicated cold-brew version too. Simply steep in the fridge for approximately 12 hours to extract a clear cup, free of impurities, with a gentle sweetness. All types serve 2-4 cups and offer economical, eco-friendly reuse.

Before first use, sanitise by boiling. After brewing, rinse and hang to dry in the shade. The quick-drying fabric makes it easy to fit into your daily coffee ritual.
